New customer deposit for residential service is $150.00 & a service fee of $26.63 will be required before services will be changed over. Upon application, a reference check (12 month credit history) will be necessary. If the credit history comes back showing 3 or more late payments, NSF checks, disconnection for non-payment or a credit history isn’t provided then a $200.00 security deposit will be required along with the $176.63 total $376.63.
The deposit(s) for homeowners will be refunded upon 12 consecutive months of paying on time. The deposit(s) will be automatically applied to the utility bill. The deposit(s) for renters will be refunded when the account is closed & will be applied to the final bill. Renter’s who paid security deposits will be applied to bill after 12 months of paying on time.
Utility bills are due upon receipt of the bill & considered past due after the due date of each month.
You can purchase 95 gallon garbage cans for $87.32 ($81.99 + $5.33 tax)

Water heaters carry lifetime warranty on the tank & 6 year warranty on parts (for the original owner only). Tank warranty claims will require your original proof of purchase. In order to purchase the 85 or 100 gallon water heater you must connect to load management box, supplied by the City of Elk Point. A $6.00 per gallon rebate is offered as long the water heater is hooked up to a load management control box. In addition, you will receive a $4.40 credit each month on your utility bill (as long as the electrical usage is more than 300 kw).
